Bruno Verri is the Strength Coach for Grêmio Football Porto Alegrense Youth Teams and is this months Beast Featured Trainer. Bruno purchased a Beast Sensor over a year ago and started implementing it with his Youth Teams to help build strength and power. Bruno was great to chat with us a little bit and tell us how he uses Beast with his Youth Team’s to prepare them for the next level.
What team(s) do you use Beast Sensor with?
Bruno: I work in Grêmio Football Porto Alegrense Youth teams (U15,U16,U17,U20) as a strength coach. My job is to measure the strength and power development of every athlete.
What are you using Beast to measure?
Bruno: This year, while using the Beast sensor I have been monitoring the bar speed in the power sessions. I can individualize each athlete training load and also the number of reps in each set according to the bar speed performance.
How has Beast been implemented into weekly/daily training cycles?
Bruno: Because of the high number of athletes I train, I chose 1 primary exercise to monitor, and to adjust the load to achieve the sessions objective.
How has Beast help to improve your athletes workouts?
Bruno: The sensor has helped to determine the load of each session, and to easily adjust it each day instead of waiting for another cycle to repeat a 1RM test.
What are you favorite features about Beast?
Bruno: I really like the real time feedback of the app, and the new updates have been great making the app faster. I use the velocity and mean velocity feedback a lot with my athletes.
Beast has been a great tool that we implemented in our training and we have seen great feedback and results from our Youth Teams.
